Reality TV

Ok so...I never realized how hard it is to keep up with a blog. Being sick and being busy with cheerleading is driving me crazy! But anyway...Reality television is becoming to get out of control. I remember when it was the Real World and now so many shows are evolving. Shows like Bad Girls Club,  A Double Shot at Love, and the Bachelor are becoming OUT OF CONTROL.  I sat in my living room, flipping through channels when I stopped at an episode of Bad Girls Club. I could not believe the actions of all these women on tv. I was actually kind of embarrassed and appalled. What is this world coming to!?

Surgery updates given through BLOGGING

After two months of waiting, two Oklahoma infants finally get the chance to live separate lives. Their first steps, their first words, and their first experiences will take place not being attached to one another. Kylee and Preslee Wells, conjoined twins born in late October had a critical surgery done today. When I saw this headline for this article my heart warmed up and it wanted me to read more. As I was reading this article I was blown away and stunned at the fact of technology is used in situations such as these. The doctors kept family and friends updated along the way so it would be as if they were there each step of the way. What is the main way they contacted the family and friends, you ask? BLOGGING! Hospital spokesperson, Alan Poston showed viewers photos, gaves opinions on the 6 hour surgery, and posted updates on his hospital blog. Before this class I wasn’t sure exactly how important blogging is but after reading this article I have a better understanding and acceptance for this form of technology. These parents couldn’t be in the operating room during this vigorous surgery but through blogging these parents could be there for their children!

Hello WORLD!

Hey everyone! I'm Briana and I'm currently a junior at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. I'm majoring in Public Relations with a minor in Sports Administration. I'm enrolled in JMC 425 which is studying Blogging and Commentary. When creating my blog I was struggling to find the perfect name. I pondered several ideas and even asked others for their opinion on what I should entitle my blog. Only one thing came to mind. Ice Cream and Pork Chops. In my blog I will probably be discussing random topics and express several opinions that may contrast and differ from other students' views. So, just like Ice Cream and Pork Chops are on opposite sides of the food spectrum, so are the opinions of students in JMC 425!
